We'll be taking the Amtrak Crescent line coach class departing Atlanta heading to New Orleans with stops in Anniston, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Al; and stops in Meridian and Hattiesburg, MS. Then arriving in New Orleans at 9:12 pm CST.

The New Orleans French Quarter, or Vieux Carre ("Old Square"), is the city's oldest neighborhood, established in 1718 by the French, and a renowned cultural center famous for its historic colonial architecture, vibrant nightlife, live music, and unique Creole cuisine. Key attractions include the iconic Bourbon Street, elegant Royal Street, the landmark Jackson Square with St. Louis Cathedral, the historic French Market, and the world-famous Café Du Monde.
Cameron Mackintosh's vision of Phantom has been described as "more spectacular than ever", and we will be attending the show on Saturday, March 7th at 2pm. We will be watching the show at the Saenger Theatre, a brief 10 minute walk from our hotel. The theater was built in 1927 and is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
At 2pm on Sunday we'll take a paddlewheeler boat tour down the Mississippi River with a stop at Chalmette Battlefield where the historic Battle of New Orleans, led by Andrew Jackson, took place in 1815 resulting in an American Victory over the British.
